How to Know Jesus Personally

God wants each of us to experience a life that has meaning, direction, love, and peace.God makes this kind of life possible through a personal relationship with his Son,Jesus Christ. But before you accept Jesus as your Savior, here are five truths that will help you understand God's desire for you. 1. God has a plan for your life. " No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven. " -John 3:27.God created you and has good plans for your life.To know those plans, you must know God personally. 2. God's plan gives meaning. " Jesus replied,'I am the bread of life.Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again.Whoever believes in me will never thirst' " -John 6:35.Many people seek meaning and purpose for their life. But they never find it because they look for meaning in the wrong things and the wrong people. When you follow God's plans for your life, the most important of which is to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will find meaning and pur...

God's Grace And Its Basis

Yes,by God's grace,Jesus tasted death for everyone. -Hebrews 2:9. God's Grace And Its Basis In His grace God seeks and saves the greatest sinner.Grace makes no distinction between outwardly decent people and thieves, adulterers, liars or whatever " We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.Amd this is true for everyone who believes,no matter who we are.For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.Yet God,with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. " -Romans 3:22-24. So long as we consider ourselves decent and good, this assertion annoys us.We cannot understand grace of this kind."How can God show grace and turn a blind eye to much evil? That surely isn't possible!" But He doesn't do that! God's grace has a firm foundation and doesn't overlook any sin.Why not? Because Christ " by God's gr...

The Significance of Christ's Resurrection

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb makes Christianity significantly different from all other religious systems of the world.Like Christianity,Islam,Confucianism,Buddhism, and many other religions are based upon strong moral codes which govern the lives of their followers. But unlike Christianity, the leaders who set forth their codes for living have not been able to prove them to be of any value beyond the grave. The followers of other religions place their faith in systems of rules that lead nowhere with any certainty.Christians,on the other hand, place their faith in Jesus Christ who has conquered sin by rising from the tomb.If we exclude the Resurrection from Christianity,we are left with nothing more than a moral code that leads nowhere. That's what Paul mearnt when he told the Corinthians," If Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God-for we have said that God raised Christ ...

God has a Son

God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it,but to save it. - John 3:17. God has a Son Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down?Who holds the wind in his fists?Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak?Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name-and his Son's name? -Proverb 30:4.God has a Son,and,as the quotation from the book of Proverbs shows, even the oldest people in the Bible suspected that it was so.That Son was sent to us by God.Is it possible to send a son who doesn't exist?Isn't that an indication that the Son of God is eternal like God Himself? Already before His birth God had decided on His Name:Jesus! And that name, which means "the Lord is salvation" describes God's purpose:He wishes to save. The message re-occurs constantly as the subject of the leaves of this calendar. Conceived by the Holy Spirit,Jesus was the Son of God even as a Man on earth (cf Matthew 1:20;Luke 1:35).Even when He was a child, people sought to kil...

No Justification By Works Of The Law

For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law,the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it. - Romans 3:20. No justification by works of the law The Jews possessed the Old Testament scriptures with revelation that God had given of Himself in them and His righteous demands in the law.But that did not make them any better than other nations.By what means they did not even become righteous.Indeed,it was and still is not possible to be justified before God through "deeds of the law"." And the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as the person who has broken all of God's laws. -James 2:10. The aim of the law of God was not to save sinful man.God's intention was rather to show mankind through the law that he was guilty and needed salvation. " By the law is the knowledge of sin. " Only those who know God's righteous demands are aware that they can...
