Yes,by God's grace,Jesus tasted death for everyone. -Hebrews 2:9.
God's Grace And Its Basis
In His grace God seeks and saves the greatest sinner.Grace makes no distinction between outwardly decent people and thieves, adulterers, liars or whatever "We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.Amd this is true for everyone who believes,no matter who we are.For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.Yet God,with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins." -Romans 3:22-24.
So long as we consider ourselves decent and good, this assertion annoys us.We cannot understand grace of this kind."How can God show grace and turn a blind eye to much evil? That surely isn't possible!"
But He doesn't do that! God's grace has a firm foundation and doesn't overlook any sin.Why not? Because Christ "by God's grace,Jesus tasted death for everyone." -Hebrews 2:9.
God does not shut His eyes to the reality of facts. He knows "the sins of the people","Therefore,it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us,his brothers and sisters,so that he could be our merciful and faithful high priest before God.Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people." -Hebrews 2:17.For them Christ accomplished the work of atonement.God Himself pronounced the sentence for sin: death! But Christ died for us,conquering the devil thereby and freeing all believers from His power."Because God's children are human beings-made of flesh and blood-the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die,and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.Only in this way could he set free all who had lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying." -Hebrews 2:14-15. He "tasted death".The sentence was carried out on Him.We should have been judged, but He paid the dept.Christ is the "holy one and the just","You rejected this holy, righteous one. . ." -Acts 3:14.He needn't have died. But He was willing to die for us,and did so through God's grace. Therefore through God's grace everyone, even the greatest sinner can be offered and granted God's full salvation.
It is worth pondering over the significant words,"By God's grace,Jesus tasted death for everyone."
