"You must be born again. " (John 3:7)
A Christian had this experience on a flight to Chicago in 1979:
"I had just fastened my safety-belt, when a middle-aged businessman took the seat next to mine. We chatted together and started speaking about faith. "I consider religion to be an important issue. " he told me. "I used to go to Bible class every Sunday. "
I wanted to know more; so I ask him, "Are you a born again Christian? Do you have life from God? " His answer was rather hesitant: "I wouldn't say that exactly. You see, I am so busy with my work that I have no time to think about such subjects." He had a leading position in a big firm.
"Do you think your professional work is so important that you can completely overlook spiritual or eternal matters? " I asked. Somewhat reluctantly he answered, "You know, life is a hard struggle, but " and here he cleared his throat before explaining, "I intend retiring in five years. Then I shall put my life in order with God. At present I simply have no time. " After landing our ways parted. The businessman had to fly to Los Angeles.
The same evening I heard the news that an engine of his plane had broken loose. The aircraft had crashed and burst into flames. All the 271 passengers were killed. It was the worst air crash in the U. S. A before the 11th September 2001.
"Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts" (Hebrews 3:7).
"Behold, now is the accepted time " (2 Corinthians 6:2).
God is speaking to you right now out of love; He does not want you to perish in your sins. Where are you failing God in your daily life activities? Is He ever your daily need? Or are you even yet to accept Him into your life? You can still make things right with Him right now. Remember, it can only be now!
