From Where To Where?

"He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction." (Psalm 107:20)

Being a Sunday School teacher,I've always been fond of my children. They don't keep what they learned outside to themselves, but are quick to share it with each other. Most of the time,I usually hear them singing new songs, most of which I personal never heard. Among the songs they love singing,I noticed that there is this one song they love singing virtually every Sunday:

"Destiny,my destiny
I need to know,my destiny
Where I'm from,Where I'm going to
Oh Lord I want to know my destiny"

I love listening to them as they sing this song with their lovely teenage voices, and sometimes I sing along with them. But as I sat down a couple of weeks later, the memory of the song came to me. But instead of singing it,this time,I thought carefully on the content of the song. Does it mean I don't know my destiny? Does it mean I don't know where I came from? And does it also mean that I don't know where I'm going to? After giving it a careful thought,I then realized that the song is faulty and had to call the children's attention and explain things to them.
God's Word is clear on this matter. We all came from sin as the Bible says,"For all have sinned".(Romans 3:23). The word "All" means no one is left out. That's were we all came from-condemned sinners as we are,and God would be right to punish us because we personal knew the evils we had done either directly or indirectly. We can't deny this truth. But then,God decided to show us mercy by sending His dear Son,Jesus Christ,to bear the punishment for our guilts," Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God's approval. His wounds have healed you." {1 Peter 2:24). Our past is full of darkness, but Christ came and delivered us from the darkness that once ruled our lives. Now,anyone who receive Him into His life, will also be saved from his dark past.
More over, after being saved from our sins, it doesn't stop there. The salvation of our souls, redefines our direction (that is,where we are going) ," So those who are believers in Christ Jesus can no longer be condemned. The standards of the Spirit, who gives life through Christ Jesus, have set you free from the standards of sin and death." (Romans 8:1-2 GWT)." If I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again. Then I will bring you into my presence so that you will be where I am." (John 14:3) All who belong to God are going to heaven as there eternal home. But those who refused to receive Christ into their lives are heading nowhere but to destruction as their eternal home too. "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, he will see God's constant anger." (John 3:36). You had better know where you are going to right now because it will be too late to decide after death or the rapture. You have peace if you know where you are going to after this life. But if no,I for see danger right ahead.
In one of the messages I shared with you some weeks ago,I said it is dangerous to assume that you have given your life to Christ. You have to be sure about this as it is a very serious matter. But if you are not sure, you can still get rid of every doubt by receiving Him today. Ask Him in a simple prayer to come into your heart and transform you from who you use to be,to what He wants you to be. You must also forsake sin completely for, “The Lord knows those who belong to him,” and “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.” (2 Timothy 2:19 ISV).
