The rate at which our values, behaviour and vocabulary are changing is amazing. Young people are quick to learn and use new phrases. For instance, a student once said to, sir ; there is nothing serious going on between us. We met at a friend's party, got real close and then decided to have fun. After some probing, she explained that having fun means sex.
Many of these changing vocabularies seem to belittle sin and the consequences of sinful actions. Nobody steals anymore, its called tapping or fastness. There is nothing like prostitution anymore, its either called hussling or commercial sex work. Nobody commits adultery or fornication anymore ; it's now having an affair or she is going out with him or vice versa.
The nomenclature of sin may change, but its consequences remains the same. "The wages of sin is death. " (Romans 6:23a)
Like this student, many people regard disobedience to God's instruction as enjoyment or fun. The Bible says, "foolish people make fun of sin" (Proverbs 14:9). The Bible also says, "A foolish person finds pleasure in doing evil things." (Proverbs 10:23) . Isn't it strange how we ignore God's warning signals, choose our own lifestyle, take the wrong road and expect to end up at the right place? Is it funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to do what God says? The Bible also says, "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12). Again the preacher warns, "You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment." (Ecclesiastes 11:9).
Dear friend, are you one of those that regards disobedience to God as fun or enjoyment? God is appealing to you right now to change from that lifestyle and behavior. For this reason He has sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die in order to change our distorted perspective about life.
God is merciful and loving ;He created you in His image and has a special plan and expectation for your life. He is calling you right now to change from the path of self destruction into a meaningful and purposeful life." “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. :If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land." (Isaiah 1:18-19)
Don't let this opportunity pass you by, the Almighty God, the creator of the whole world, is calling you right now. Will you turn back on Him and continue in a life of disobedience and disregard to His instructions? What else should God do to get your attention? He sacrificed Jesus Christ, His only Son, who died on the cross of Calvary to win your love. The Bible warns, " how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?" (Hebrews 2:3). Please my friend, why don't you open up your heart and invite Jesus Christ into your life? God is offering you mercy, forgiveness and cleansing right now, accepting this offer means you have repent and forsake your sins. Do it now. Today is your day of salvation and visitation, don't let it pass you by. E
