There is no one who can get to heaven on his own merits, "God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; It is a gift of God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." (Ephesians 2:8,9 NLT). It also says, "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." (Romans 3:23). That is why the only way to heaven is through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6).
You Are The Beneficiary
Unlike life insurance which benefit those we leave behind, you, the insured individual, are the one to benefit. When we realize that because of sin we are barred from God's presence ("For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23).
Then we are ready to hear good news that "This is trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" and I am the worst of them all." (1 Timothy 1:15). Yes, God gave His Holy Son Jesus Christ who suffered God's judgement against our sin on the cross. "But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus His Son, cleanses us from all sin." (1John 1:7). So you see, because of Christ's death, you become the beneficiary recieving eternal life.
All Qualify
We have already saw that (John 3:16) says that "whosoever believes in Him has eternal life." Won't you just now bow down your head and in simple faith confess to God that you are a wayward, hell-bound sinner? Believe that Jesus died on the cross for you, bearing your sins so that you might be cleansed and have eternal life.
Get It Now!
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that once a person dies that he has another chance to get to heaven. It does say, "the right time is now. Today is the day of salvation." (2Corinthians 6:2). Don't put it off. Accept Christ's free gift of pardon and eternal life right now. "The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Then you can live in peace knowing that your life is insured with God through His Son Jesus Christ.
