At a time like this,a lot has been happening thus confirming the reliability and trustworthiness of God's Word [The Bible].The Bible is God's Word because "
. . .no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding or from human initiative.No,those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit,and they spoke from God." [2 Peter 1:20-21 NLT] "
All Scripture is inspired by God" [2 Timothy 3:16].
Nowadays,people find it hard to believe that the Bible is actually the Word of God.They believe that hence the Bible is a collection of books written by men,it is therefore the words of those who wrote it instead of God as claimed.Their conclusion is: "If God truely exists,He can't possibly speak to us through a book." But can this be true? In the Old testament,God didn't speak to His people through books,but through prophets.In fact,there was a point in time where God had to come down to speak to the people directly due to their hardened hearts,and refusal to listen to those whom He uses to speak to them.But as He came,the harden hearts of the people were humbled as they trembled with fear.This is what they said to Moses,"
You speak to us,and we will listen.But don't let God speak directly to us,or we will die!" [Exodus 20:19 NLT] No mortal being can stand the glorious presence of God directly,and survives it.Therefore,He speaks to prophets through visions and as well,commanding them to write it down.An example is found in Revalation 1:19,"
Write down what you have seen,both the things that are happening and the things that will happen."
If you don't see the Bible as the Word of God,you won't believe what it says.But if you see it as the Word of God,then you should take everything it says more seriously.Now,this is what God spoke in Isaiah 42:9 saying,"
Everything I prophesied has come true,and now I will prophesy again.I will tell you the future before it happens." Do you believe that God's prophesy will once again come true? He prophesied again in Matthew 24,a much familiar Scripture in the Bible which many don't seem to understand it's message at all due to carelessness or lack of understanding.Do you see it coming true? Well,you shouldn't see it coming true,because it's fulfilling already.God who made this predictions cannot lie.He said,"
In my holiness I cannot lie." [Psalm 89:35] Do you believe God?
The problem with most of us is that we easily ask God for something,but at the end,are careless about it.We like Jesus' disciples in Matthew 24:3,asked for a sign,but now that it's clearly happening in our own time,many seem to be even more careless in the way they live.Their attitudes towards God can best be describe as enemity instead of friendship at this crucial moment.Their fellowship with God has died off as they are now after the world's standard of living.
It is a time we all need to be much more careful knowing that our Saviour is right on His way.The Bible says if you are still standing for Jesus,it's not because you're better than those who have fallen,but that their falling should be a more greater reason for you to be even more careful so you don't end up like them as well,[1 Corinthians 10:12].
Remember,turning back is not an option if you want to make it to heaven.But if you have given up already,and prefer to go after what your heart desires,then turning back is an option to consider.But the Bible made it clear that,"Certainly,an evil person will not go unpunished!" [Proverbs 11:21 GWT].Watch and Pray!
