Truth Unveilers: Romans 6:1-2a Dear friends,we appreciate your contributions on this month's Truth Unveilers Platform. We pray that the truth in this Scripture, will help you discover and understand God's will for your life. Remember that only the truth can set one free! It doesn't matter how vast your knowledge of the Scripture is,or how much time you spend daily studying and reading the Bible. What matters is that you discover the truth. Many people, both ministers of the Word,Scholars, and ordinary individuals who also teach the Word to others, always miss the mark when it comes to the truth.Discovering the truth takes more than just reading the Bible or carrying out Biblical research. It means discovering the will of God in every Scripture! Now let's go back to the main issue of the moment, what God is saying in the Scripture provided below: The Scripture: Romans 6:1-2a [NCV] "
So do you think we should continue sinning so that God will give us even more grace? No!" This is an amazing Scripture which addresses an important issue, many may not have noticed. The message of grace is so powerful, that no one can fully understand it.For example, the Bible says,"
But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad,she received a message from God.(This message shows that God chooses people according to His own purposes; He calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.)" [Romans 9:11-12 NLT] In verse 15,it says,"
I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose." You can't explain why God does the things He does, but He's always right when He does them.In the two Scriptures we quoted, you can see the definition of grace.God is saying it doesn't matter whether one is good or bad,but it's all about His choice. This however does not mean that one should stop doing good,or should continue doing bad.Grace itself is not salvation, but it's God's own standard of saving people. But as it is,many don't seem to understand grace even though they believe to have known and understand it so well that they even teach others about it.Grace was wrongly explained by many,to a point where the truth about it is nowhere to be found due to the scarcity.of those who teach the truth. The Scripture [Romans 6:1-2],said something really important about grace. All Christian believers rely so much on grace which they absolutely can't do without! [2 Corinthians 12:9] However, many don't seem to understand the truth about this grace, they so much rely on.They believed that grace has accomplished everything on their behalf. Therefore when they say by 'God's grace',it is all over. The misunderstanding or interpretation of grace,is another factor fueling the prevailance of sin many years ago,to our present time.Due to the wrong teachings many received on grace, they thought that grace has actually deactivated God's laws thus rendering them invalid. The belief that grace means freedom from God's commandments,is indeed misleading and contradicts what Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-19. Therefore,it is necessary for you to know that, the fact that grace is available in aboundance [Titus 2:11],does not mean you cannot sin,or you should keep on sinning.Grace can't stop people from sinning, but enables them to obtain forgiveness if they confess and turn away from their sinful lifestyles. Apostle Paul knew that many misunderstood the whole thing about the amazing grace He preached and taught during his ministerial work. They thought it means freedom to do whatever they want,or live however they want hence by His grace, they can obtain forgiveness. He [Paul] therefore draws the attention of the Roman believers, and believers of our time, that grace does not mean one should live or continue to live a sinful life, but it's an undeserved privilege that saved us the punishment we so richly deserve if only we confess and turn away completely from our sins. God is the giver of grace, and anyone who takes His free grace for granted, may be cut off completely from Him,signalling that person's doom. When God forgives us our many sins,it is not for us to keep on sinning thus render His grace useless, but for us to return and continue in the path of righteousness, and to do what pleases Him. That is the truth God wants us to come to the knowledge of in this Scripture. The will of God is not for us to live the life of a pig who goes back to the mud after being washed,or the life of a dog who goes back to his own vomit. We have been cleansed by the priceless precious blood of the Lamb! Let's honour Him by living to please Him,not ourselves. Remain Bless In Christ Jesus!
