Among all known words used by people,love is probably the most common and a much familiar word.It's almost in everyone's mouth.
Now,we are sure you may be wondering what else we have to say about this much well known word.It could be true that you've heard a lot about this word,and have probably received many teachings on it.But we urge you to patiently read through this simple amazing truth discovery study to discover something else God wants you to know,probably something you thought you know,but never truely knew.
In this study,we would be unveiling the truth about love,what it is all about,the mystery behind love,and the principle of love.Remember we said it will be a simple study,and we trust the Lord to make it as simple as possible through the help of the Holy Spirit.Now let's kick start with this question;

What Is Love?
An interesting thing about this word is that many people tend to know how best to apply it without even knowing what it is nor what it represents.Almost everyone can define it,and it's definition can be personalize to suit one's desire.A good person has his very own way of defining love,and so also a bad person.The way a person defines love,determines how he applies it.That is to say,if a person rightly defines love,he'll apply it rightly.And also if a person wrongly defines love,he'll surely apply it wrongly.
The world is confused about this whole thing about love.It preaches and teaches people about the love it knows nothing about.The world's definition of love is mearnt to promote wickedness.That's why the more the world preaches and teaches people about love,the more the prevalence of wickedness.The opposite of love,is the world's definition of love.Let's take a look at another important question;

Is The Love In The Dictionary The Real True Love?
I bet there is no dictionary in this world that says nothing about love.Every dictionary's definition of love seem to be in agreement as the definitions are all alike.But is the definition of love in the dictionary the real and true definition of love? If yes,then it means that the world is right about love.But if no,then it means many have been using the wrong definition of .love and have been applying it wrongly which could be responsible for the prevalence of wickedness.
If Christians believe in the love of the dictionary,they should also know that the world believe in it too.And if this is the case,then it means that Christians have something in common with the world afterall which shouldn't have been the case.[2 Corinthians 6:14-17]

What Is Love All About?
There is something about love that many know little or nothing about.Love is more than just a mere definition as found in the dictionary.Even most Christians with some ministers [men of God] inclusive,go about preaching and teaching people of the love defined in the dictionary.They borrow the world's standard definition of love to teach people about love.You can see why the love that was once in the ancient church is no where to be found in most of our churches today.If people are ignorant of the real true love,how can they apply it?

The Mystery Behind Love
What would be your thoughts if we say that love cannot be defined? But it's true,it cannot.There is a great mystery behind this word that made it impossible to be defined.To find out what it is,lets take a close look at what God's Word says.
The Bible said a lot of things about love with one of the popular Scripture being 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 where apostle Paul addressed the Corinthian Christians on what true love is all about.Sum up all what Paul wrote in that chapter then create your very own definition of love in the light of the Scripture.In chapter 13:13,he [Paul] summed it up this way,"So these three things continue forever: faith,hope,and love.And the greatest of these is love." But why love? Why did apostle Paul acknowledges love as the greatest? It's because there is a great mystery behind love.
Who else teaches more about love than our Savior Jesus Christ? Read all the four gospels to see if Jesus' teachings are those not of love.In respose to a question in Matthew 22:37-40,Jesus made it clear that loving the Lord and one's neighbor is the top two most important commands that must be adhered to,by everyone who claims to belong to God.Once again,love is involved.
Furthermore,it is love that made it possible for the Savior Jesus Christ to come to earth to save lost sinner."For God loved the world so much,that He gave His one and only Son. . ." -John 3:16[NLT]
Therefore,having briefly yet carefully looked at what love is all about,one will then ask: what is this mystery behind love? The answer is God.Yes,God is the mystery behind love.The Bible confirmed God as love in these Scriptures; 1John 4:8[NCV] says,"Whoever does not love does not know God,because God is love."; 1 John 4:16 also says,"And so we know the love that God has for us,and we trust that love.God is love.Those who live in love live in God,and God lives in them." The Bible says God is love,and love is God.Now,if God is love,can God be defined? Who knows so much and enough about God to define Him? In 1 John 4:10,it says,"This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; It is God's love for us." That's real love.You can now see the difference between the love in the dictionary and the real love in God's Word.
Many people confuse the love in the dictionary to that of the Bible thinking they are both the same.The love in the dictionary kills because it is not of God,but the one in the Bible gives life because it is God himself.

The Principle Of Love
Any love that is not of God is not love,and no one can love unless that person have God in him just as the Scripture says,"Those who live in love,live in God,and God lives in them.".You can now see why Paul said without love [God],one is nothing! And also,that love is the greatest.
The world cannot love because it does not know God,for only those who love,truely know God.Every Christian is therefore under obligation to love God first,then his fellow human.For when we show love to our fellow humans,it means that we truely know God.Remember: we cannot love on our own,but can only do that if we have God in us.If we show love to our fellow humans,we are simply showing God to them.
More so,hence God is love himself,it means that everyone who show love to others,is simply showing God to them.But is that the case with the world's love? The world that knows not God,and also rejected the Savior Jesus Christ cannot love because it does not even know the God of love.So when the world speak of love,it simply mean hatred,wickedness,immorality,pride,idolatry and all kinds of unimaginable acts of wickedness and evil currently going on,in the world today.
To have love means to have God,and to love means to know God.1 John 4:7 says,"Everyone who loves has become God's child and knows God." And the knowledge of God,and his Son Jesus Christ,is eternal life."And this is eternal life: that people know you,the only true God,and that they know Jesus Christ,the One you sent." -John17:3.Now this is a trustworthy saying: those who love,knows God.And because they know God,they have eternal life.Therefore,to everyone who's looking forward to spending eternity with the Lord,the secret is love!
Finally,loving our fellow human is a command given to us by God.Loving them shows that we belong to God and truely know Him."And God gave us this command: those who love God must also love their brothers and sisters." -1 John 4:21.And if we truely know God,it means we know Jesus too.For He said,"If you knew me,you will know my father,too."
Jesus also said,"If people love me,they will obey my teachings." -John 14:23.How can we claim to love Jesus if we think more of ourselves and less of Him? Know that we can't apply the love of this world to Jesus for He is not of this world.The reason why many people find it difficult to obey Jesus' teachings is because they have been applying the wrong kind of love to Him.They claimed they love and belong to Jesus,but on the other hand,they continued to disobey the teachings of the person they claim to love by doing the very things they know He despised and warned against.Now is this the love Jesus was talking about? This is exactly what He mean when He said,"Not all those who say,'You are our Lord' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.The only people who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven are those who do what my Father in heaven wants." -Matthew 7:21.If you are still living a sinful lifestyle,it's because you are living for yourself which is absolutely not the reason why Jesus had to die."Christ died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves.He died for them and was raised from the dead so that they would live for Him." -2 Corinthians 5:15.Only those who are living for Jesus can remain in His love."I loved you as the Father loved me.Now remain in my love." John 15:9.Do you really love Jesus? How long have you being bearing the Christian name? It will all be a waste unless you have the real love and remain in it.Jesus is this real love and those who have this real love cannot continue to live in sin."Those who are God's Children do not continue sinning,because the new life from God remains in them.They are not able to go on sinning because they have become children of God." -1 John 3:9.If you have this love [Jesus Christ],you can then show it to others by loving them as commanded.
Note: You can't love unless you truely have Jesus in your life.Yet not just that alone,you must also remain in Him.Jesus is the true meaning of love and is not in any way connected to the love in the dictionary which is of this world.If you have love,you have eternal life because God is love!
