Being a Christian who's resolve is to live for Jesus,I never ceased nor stop thinking about heaven despite the trials, challenges, and troubles rallying around me.The more I face these things, the more I fix my heart and faith on Jesus knowing that I'll be with him someday which would mark the end of my sufferings here on earth.
I am so occupied with the thought of being with Jesus, that I began to imagine so many things in relation to eternity.Whenever I see people sinning,I could only see the dreadful fate that awaits them after this life if they should die in their sins.Being obsessed and disturbed with this fact,I decided to go through the Bible to see if there could be a possible alternative means through which a sinner could escape what the Bible calls 'The Horror of Hell.' I knew I'll be searching for something I would definitely not find. But I decided to give it a try anyway,to see whether there is a special provision in the Bible which could be responsible to why a sinner enjoy sinning believing that he can still make it to heaven through another possible means.
As I searched, all I could discover was just a single possibility though not an alternative way to heaven so to say.
Death is inevitable, and can take a person at any time after which that person would have to face judgment."And just as each person is destined to die once, and after that comes judgment." -Hebrews 9:27.Death made it possible for a person to face God's judgment much earlier even though the end is still yet to come.
Therefore, for any sin a person commits and still lives, means that very person has just escaped the death sentence he would have received if he were to die in that sin.And this escape is by the special grace of God.God has just given that person another chance to make things right with him
Moreso, you can now see that every sinner who is still alive today, has been escaping the death sentence he/she would have received if he/she were to die in that sin. However, this escape is due to the special grace given to them by God in order to set things right with Him thus escape the final judgment.
This discovery was a good news that puts a bit of smile on my face knowing that many sinners are beneficiaries of God's special grace without even knowing it.This special grace gives them hope! But then, the little bit of smile which flashed through my face suddenly disappeared. It is one thing to be a beneficiary of God's grace and mercy, and it is another thing to make something out of it.
Therefore,a sinner may escape the death that could cause him to face early judgment,by the grace of God,but would he make it through the rapture? The rapture is the final opportunity he has to be with the Lord thus escape hell. But how can he make it through the rapture if he remained a sinner hence the Bible said that only "The dead in Christ will rise"? -1 Thessalonians 4:16[NIV].Only genuine Christians would make it through the rapture. But it will however,be unfortunate that many sinners who through the grace of God,escaped the death that would have sealed up their fates, would still miss the rapture-the one final possibility of making it to heaven.
As I continue thinking about this,I came to a point where I asked myself; which is atleast, better? Escaping the death that would cause a sinner to face early judgment,or missing the rapture which would lead him to the days of wrath also know as the time of the "Great Tribulation" But then, who can survive the wrath of God?
Summing everything up,I concluded that dying in sin and facing early judgment, and missing the rapture have one thing in common-one would miss heaven.
However, being alive, gives one the possibility of making it to heaven only if that person would make use of yet another grace given to him by God to set things right with Him while there is still time to do so.
Furthermore, there are somethings we think we know, but do we really know them? There are also somethings we think we understand, but do we really understand them? There is a difference between knowing something, and really knowing it.There is also a difference between understanding something, and really understanding it.When we speak of the terror that awaits all those who die in their sins, many people see our message as nothing new-they claim to have read about it in the Bible too.Someone once told me,"there is nothing new in the Bible,it's always the same thing, same message one keeps hearing over and over again.Infact, the Bible is outdated." Is the Bible really outdated? The problem with people who think that way is their inability to ask themselves these questions: what have I done with the message I've heared over and over again? Has it changed my life,or am I still the same old person I used to be? Can the Word of God be outdated?
Many are dying spiritually because they feel they are tired of hearing the usual message.Christianity is now becoming a shadow of itself and those who think the Bible is outdated have successfully updated it by teaching the opposite of what's contained in the Bible.
They have twisted the right message in order to satisfy their carnal desires which would eventually lead to their doom. These are the people who thought they new,but never knew, thought they understand, but never understand what the Scriptures says.
They among others, are the very beneficiaries of God's special grace without even knowing it.Our knowledge and understanding of the time, determines how well we prepare to meet our God in judgment.[Amos 4:12]
The one special event every genuine Christian is looking foreward to,is the rapture-the return of jesus Christ to take with him, those who belong to him.[1 Thessalonians 4:16-17] At this time,It won't matter whether one is alive or dead. What matters is that one dies in Christ or still alive in Christ. After the rapture, heaven will shut it's doors at those who fail to make it through the rapture. The possibility of making it to heaven is now over-no more death,no more rapture. All that remains,is the final judgment[i.e. after the millenial reign of terror, and the millenial peaceful and righteous reign of Christ.]
At the moment, the world careless about this all important message and urgent call to set things right with God by surrendering their lives to his son Jesus and to also live for him."Christ died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves,He died for them and was raised from the dead so that they would live for him." -2 Corinthians 5:15 [NCV].The world has no idea that it is jeopardizing its one and only possibility of escaping the dreadful end that lies just ahead of those who fail to surrender and live for Jesus Christ. But after all hope is lost, they will realize how foolish they were, but that won't change anything. At that time, the BIble also says,"They will look on the one they pierced [rejected]." -John 19:37.
This is the simple fact that may still not be believed now or could even be taken for granted. But reader please take note of this: If you are living for Jesus, please continue to do so asking for more grace [Revelation 22:11-12.],If you are still living for yourself, though being a Christian but always sruggling with sin thus living an inconsistent Christian life,or have rejected the Savior Jesus Christ many times because of whatever you believed in,the time to act and set things right with God is now."Today is the day of salvation." -2 Corinthians 6:2.But if you fail to act now that you still have the chance to do so,there is danger just ahead. If heaven shuts you out,all hope would be lost!
