God Knows You!

The Lord is good,a strong refuge when trouble comes.He is close to those who trust in him.

The Lord knows those who are his. -Nahum 1:7,2 Timothy 2:19.

God Knows You
In a town in England the queen once opened a new school in the presence of a large deputation of future pupils.When the ceremony was over,one small girl was weeping bitterly."What's the matter?" inquired a teacher."Didn't you see the queen?" - "Yes," replied the child,"But she didn't see me!" Of course,the queen could not possibly take note of every child in the crowd,but the girl was too young to appreciate that.
Now in this age of computers it can easily happen that we feel ourselves to be no more than a number,e.g. at the tax office,for social security,at the bank.Whenever we have an identification number,nobody seems to be particularly interested in us as persons.
That is,however,not the case.There is One who knows just who I am.He knows my name and hears my feeblest sigh.King David who constantly experienced this said,"You know when I sit down or stand up.You know my thoughts even when I'm far away.You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.You know everything I do.You know what I am going to say even before I say it,Lord." -Psalm 139:2-4.
The Lord Jesus Christ,the Good Shepherd,calls those who follow Him by name "He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out." -John 10:3.And for the people of God these words have been recorded:"I have called you by name; you are mine" -Isaiah 43:1.
Isn't it worth belonging to such a Lord and living in a conscious awareness of His personal care? "Even if my father and mother abandon me,the Lord will hold me close. -Psalm 27:10.
