Love So Great
Think about this:"For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son,so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16.Can you understand such love?
Nothing demonstrates the love of God like the cross of Jesus Christ:"He personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right." -1 Peter 2:24.God loves you,a sinner (Romans 3:10,12),but hates your sin.That is why God gave His Son to die for sinners to take away their sins.Jesus Christ,the sinless Son of God,took the punishment for your sins so that you could go free!
What Made Him Die?
Come to Calvary and look at Him as He hangs there.What caused God to send His Son to die on the cross? Can you see Him there and say that God does not love you? "And here is how to measure it-the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends." -John 15:13.But Christ laid down His life for His enemies! "For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies,we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life." -Romans 5:10.When they were mocking and ridiculing Him,what did He say? "Father,forgive these people,because they don't know what they are doing." -Luke 23:34.That is love!
"When we were utterly helpless,Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." -Romans 5:6,8.
What Will You Do?
Can you ignore such love? Surely it ought to convince you to give yourself to Him Who died for you.He wants to have you for Himself,to fill your heart with His love,to hold and keep you with His mighty hand,and to bring you to His Father's house for all eternity.Will you come?
