What are we looking for?
A well-known missionary was invited to dine with a V.I.P.,a former governor of India.In the course of their conversation the governor said,"You claim to have seen hundreds of converts in India.I have lived there for many years and never seen one."
Thereupon the missionary asked him,"Have you ever seen tiger in India?
"Oh,yes," was his reply,"I often went hunting and have shot several myself."
"Well then that's similar to me," continued the missionary,"For my part,I have never seen a tiger in India.You have seen what you were looking for.With me it is the same."
For each one of us,much depends on what we are looking for in the world.The wisdom of God states:"I love all who love me.Those who search for me will surely find me.Unending riches,honor,wealth,and justice are mine to distribute.My gifts are better than the purest gold,my wages better than sterling silver."-Proverbs 8:17-19.
Seek this available divine wisdom,even if people despise you for it! It can be found in the Word of God alone.It even bears a name.It is the blessed name that the gospel presents:
"Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God." -1 Corinthians 1:24.
Actually,it's normal to seek for something,but the issue is not the seeking but what you are seeking for.People mostly seek for things that makes them happy or gives them pleasure but never care about how and were those things comes from including the dangers attached to them.And when things turn sour,they'll then hate life and some times commit suicide.It is said that "What you seek is what you find".Even the Bible says,"There is a path before each person that seems right,but it ends in death." -Proverbs 14:12.We sometimes spent must of our time looking for other things we thought are good and right and will give us what we want,but we usually end up regreting.But there's someone else we've forsaken to follow our own ways,someone of whom anyone who seek him will surely find him and will never regret it.This person is Jesus.Seek him today and see what your story will be like.
