Welcome to the concluding part of this study.Like I've said earlier,there is quite a lot to write,but here at HTNW our major concern is not on how much is written,but to ensure that the message is made simple and easily understandable even if it's written in few words.I know that some or probably all the studies published on this site may sound strange or disgusting to you which is actually understandable.But I'm sure you would probably not think that Christians all over the world are crazy for believing that all these Biblical records are true.The truth is,nobody was born a Christian.We were just like everyone else living in ignorance even though we thought we were doing the right thing,until the very day we finally had and encounter with God.But since God is a spirit,you wouldn't expect it to be a physical encounter.And it's the same story with every true Christian.Therefore,not everyone is expected to believe this message of salvation unless that person had a personal encounter with God,too,which is why the Bible says,"I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction.But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God." -1 Corinthians 1:18.But I hope you will recognize it as we do.I want you to also know that Christianity is not a mere religion as it is often refered to.The truth is that it is much more than that.Just sit back and imagine what it means to live an eternal life in hell which can be easily avoided by doing a simple prayer like this,"Dear Lord Jesus,I've truely realized how sinful I am by rejecting you all this while to follow my own wicked ways which the world recognizes and duly appreciates.Actually the path I've chosen for myself looks good,sweet and rewarding [There is a path before each person that seems right,but it ends in death. -Proverbs 14:12.].But now I know that as good,sweet and rewarding as it seemed,It leads to death.Thank you for giving me a second chance today even though I deserved to be punished for my huge sins.Now I've come before you today loaded with many sins,accept me as I am,forgive and cleanse me from them all.Today I've denounced my evil ways and have choosed to follow you with the whole of my heart and to do that which you want me to do.Thank you Jesus for saving me.Amen."This simple prayer is powerful enough to change your entire life and give you a new beginning.Nothing more is required than to continue in this new found rich life in Christ Jesus.It will take you just a minute to do this prayer and be saved forever,and it will take you a consistent rejection of this free gift of salvation to spent eternity in hell.Therefore,I implore you never to take this message of salvation for granted because there may not be a second chance for you again.
Now lets continue from where we stopped in the previous page which you can visit if you click this link,or you can start from the beginning by clicking this link aswell.Remember we saw earlier that for the people to obtain forgiveness of their sins,a sacrifice must be offered by the people as directed by God from the Book of Leviticus chapter 1 to 6.And the brief summary of this directives are as follows;
* They are to bring either a goat,sheep,turtledoves,or a choice flour as directed by God.This requirements must be under good condition.
* They are to lay their hands on the goat or sheep while it's been slaughtered.By so doing,their sins are being transfered to these animals.
* The priest in charge is to complete the remaining processes before the people can be considered clean and sins forgiven.
Therefore,having seen the directives that must be followed if the people's sins must be forgiven,now let's see how the ultimate sacrifice was made.Jesus was a perfect man who knew no sin,but was send into this world to bear it's sins-the sins he never commited.Just as the people's sins were transfered to the animals,so also the sins of the world was transfered to Him.He must now pay the price for the sins He never commited because our deserved punishment has now been transfer to Him.But even before He was born,His sufferings were also prophesied as quoted below;
"Many were amazed when they saw him-beaten and bloodied,so disfigured one would scarcely know he was a person." -Isaiah 52:14.The Bible also said this about him;"He was despised and rejected-a man of sorrows,acquainted with bitterest grief.We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by.He was despised,and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down.And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins!
But he was wounded and crushed for our sins.He was beaten that we might have peace.He was whipped,and we were healed! All of us have strayed away like sheep.We have left God's paths to follow our own.Yet the Lord laid on him the guilts and sins of us all.He was oppressed and treated harshly,yet he never said a word.He was led as a lamb to the slaughter.And as a sheep silent before the shearers,he did not open his mouth.From prison and trial they led him away to his death.But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins-that he was suffering their punishment? He had done no wrong,and he never deceived anyone.But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man's grave.
But it was the Lord's good plan to crush him and fill him with grief.Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,he will have a multiple of children,many heirs.He will enjoy a long life,and the Lord's plan will prosper in his hands.When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,he will be satisfied.And because of what he has experienced,my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be count righteous,for he will bear all their sins.I will give him the honors of one who is mighty and great,because he exposed himself to death.He was counted among those who were sinners.He bore the sins of many and interceded for sinnes." -Isaiah 53:3-12.
Even though lots of prophesies and adequate arrangements were made before the Saviour was born,it's however unfortunate that the people's eyes were blind that they could not see nor recalled what the scriptures said concerning him.We saw the prophesies concerning his parents which came true,it was also prophesied that the Saviour (Jesus) would be born in Bethlehem as quoted below:
"But you,O Bethlehem Ephrathah,are only a small village in Judah.Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you,one whose origins are from the distant pasts. -Micah 5:2.And also their settlement in Nazareth of Galilee,confirmed his consecration to God as a Nazarene.The Bible also has this to say about Galilee,"But there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles,which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea,will be filled with glory." -Isaiah 9:1.Therefore,God has spoken enough on the Saviour's coming,but the people however lacked understanding.Thus,he came but was rejected by those who were suppose to gladly welcome him.In fact,this was someone's reation when he was told about Jesus;"Philip went off to look for Nathaniel and told him,"We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus,the son of Joseph from Nazareth."
"Nazareth!" exclaimed Nathaniel."Can anything good come from there?"" -John 1:45-46.Actually,Jesus came from a humble background and was born and raised in a small village where even the Israelites believed nothing good could come from,but that's how God arranged it.
More so,though he suffered rejection by many,yet he was not discouraged but continued to the time he was finally crucified by the very people he came to save.The gospel according to Matthew,Mark,Luke-and John gave the accounts of Jesus life on earth from the day he was born to the day he died,resurrected and was taken back to heaven.To read the complete account of Jesus' life on earth,I suggest you get a copy of the Bible,open and read the four books listed above.
We saw earlier on that the coming of Jesus Christ to earth was to save man from the bondage of sin,and we also saw that Jesus himself was fully aware of the task ahead of him and his death on the cross was the fulfilment and completion of his purpose for coming which is why he said,"It is finished!" -John 19:30.And also because He is God himself,this is what he also said,"No one can take my life from me.I lay down my life voluntarily.For I have the right to lay it down when I want to and also the power to take it again.For my Father has given me this command." -John 10:18.Based on the scripture quoted above,Jesus was actually referring to his death,but non of the people understood what he mearnt.He knew that he'll be killed,but it's possible because God wants it that way otherwise,he have the power to stop it from happening.Therefore,even though he layed down his life by allowing himself to be put to death,he also has the power to take it again by resurrecting from the death.The Bible also said,"However,God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life again,for death could not keep him in its grip." -Acts 2:24.
After his resurrection from the dead,before he was taken back to heaven,this is what he told his disciples:"I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth." -Matthew 28:18,which confirmed the vision God showed Daniel as quoted below:
"As my vision continued that night,I saw someone who looked like a man coming with the clouds of heaven.He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.He was given authority,honor,and royal power over all the nations of the world,so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him.His rule is eternal-it will never end.His kingdom will never be destroyed." -Daniel 7:13-14.There is alot about Jesus that only he who comes to him would know.
What has Jesus' death got to do with man?
You may be wondering why Jesus had to die because of man's sin as we've seen earlier,now this is it; The death of Jesus on the cross ushered in the era of grace.The Bible said,"For the law was given through Moses; God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ." -John 1:17.The law had provisions which man must abide with if he must be considered righteous.But recalling from what we saw earlier before the coming of the Savior (Jesus Christ),it was obvious that man could not keep the laws which is why he had to keep offering sacrifices for his sins.But when Jesus came to this wicked world loaded with our sins upon him,from his early age to his death there was no record of sin charged against him.
Therefore,he was nailed on the cross with our sins,but his resurrection from the death has given life to all who believe in him.Thus he said,"I am the way,the truth,and the life.No one can come to the Father except through me." -John 14:6,and "With my authority,take this message of repentance to all the nations,beginning in Jerusalem:"There is forgiveness of sins for all who turn to me."" -Luke 24:47.Jesus is now our gateway to heaven.He is the middle man between us and our maker (God).His death and resurrection has given us access to God.No more sacrifice is required to obtain forgiveness of sins.
However,this access is limited to those who accepts him into their lives by doing the following:
"For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,you will be saved.For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God,and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." -Romans 10:9-10.If you can just do what the above scripture says,then you're done.Accepting Jesus into your life will cost you just one thing-forsaking your old way of life and surrendering to him completely.For only then,will you be justified.
Now that we have seen Jesus as the Savior,we will now see him as the Son of God and God himself.
Jesus as the Son of God and God himself
Having seen Jesus as the Savior,his purpose for coming and the brutal treatment he received,we also mentioned that he is God himself.A study has already been made earlier on this subject which you can access by clicking this link.And in future study,we will see his second coming to rapture his holy ones and also to judge the world.Remember! Jesus loves you which is why he had to suffer to his death even though he has the power not to.But he fulfilled the will of his Father in order to save you from your rotten old way of life and give you a new life in him.Also know that this is not a fantasy story,but a facteous truth that many failed to understand nor accept even during his time on earth.There will be no repentance in the grave,but now that you are still alive,it means you still have a chance to make things right and escape the coming judgment and also eternity in hell if only you would do the one minute simple prayer as written above.
