The message considered to be nonsense
An infuenza epidemic was going around.The farmer's wife had not been spared.So long as she was feverish,she was fairly patient.But as soon as her temperature returned to normal she wanted to get up,run the household herself and feed the animals.But the doctor ordered a few more days rest for her.
A nurse continued coming ever day and took the opportunity to speak to her about the Saviour,Jesus Christ."I don't need a Saviour,"said the farmer's wife,"I believe in God,and that's enough for me."-"Buu Jesus Christ is the only way to God."
"I don't believe tha+.I'll find my way all right alone.In any case,I do what is right and harm no-one."-"Are you so sure?Have you ever read the Bible?"-"Read the Bible?No! Preserve me!I don't do that.It's all nonsense!"
"How can you say that it's all nonsense,if you haven't read it?As a matter of fact,the Bible says something about nonsense.It uses another word,but it means the same thing."-"Really?What does it say?I'd like to know."
The nurse read from 1 Corinthians 1:18.I know very well how foolish (nonsense) the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction.But we who are been saved recognize this message as the very power of God.That made the farmer's wife start thinking.The next day she wanted to hear more.Not that she wanted to become religious,but a little more knowledge of the Bible couldn't hurt.So the nurse read her a passage every day.Gradually the farmer's wife realized that she had no standing before God as she was,but needed the Lord Jesus as her Saviour.

Considering the situation above,you can clearly see that the farmer's wife referred the Bible as "nonsense" without ever reading it.That's exactly how many people today view the Bible,they develop hatred and despise the Bible for no reason.
The truth is,we who recognize the Bible and the message contained in it,as the very power of God,isn't because we just woke up one morning and believe the Bible just like that.It wasn't easy when we first heared the message,no Christian anywhere in the world would tell you that it was easy.Christians are not automaticaly born to be what they are,every one of us had a past yet not just a past,but an urgly past for that matter.Non of us can claim to be good or qualified enough to stand before God.Some of us may have even read the Bible,learned about God and were even born and raised in Christian homes,but that never mearnt that we were truely Christians.We thought and does things like every order normal person would do.In fact,we live our lives according to the parttern of this world till the day we encountered Jesus and then realized that what we thought we knew about Him was not enough to make us right with God.Our sins were exposed in the light of God's word,we finally realize and accepted the fact that we are sinners and that we need a Saviour just like the farmer's wife.Now,we are proud and bold enough to let you know that accepting and coming to Jesus was the best decission we have ever made,every true Christian would tell you that.
We truly understand that it's not easy for you to agree to what we and other Christians are saying and testifying,we felt like that too.Jesus is all that you need,He would not say no if you come to Him today!
