The Screen

You turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothe me with joy, that i might sing praises to you and not be silent.O Lord my God,I will give you thanks forever!
-Psalm 30:11-12.

The Screen
A man lay in hospital after suffering a terrible accident. That gave him plenty of time to think, and since the prospects of healing were uncertain,he thought about dying.
One day a nurse put up a screen around his bed.The patient understood what that meant: he had not much time left.
On the wall opposite his bed hung a verse from the Bible,"Come to me,all of you who are weary and carry heavy burden, and I will give you rest" -Matthew11:28.His gaze went from the verse to the screen and back.Come to Jesus! Wasn't it too late for him? He had been so indifferent towards God and the question of eternity. But now time was passing. So he cried out,"Lord Jesus,I'll come to you!" - "Poor fellow," thought the man in the next bed,"He's starting to go mad."
The Lord heard that cry made in his need.He had Himself reminded that lost soul of what he had heard earlier in his life: "However, those the Father has given me will come to me,and I will never reject them" -John 6:37."I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me,even though they die like everyone else, will live again" -John 11:25. This message of salvation entered his stirred up heart, and the seed took root.He found peace.
Later the nurse re-appeared."Excuse,"she said,"But I came into the wrong room just now!" And she removed the screen."O nurse,"he replied,"your mistake has been my salvation."The man soon recovered and led a life of joy as he followed Jesus.
