A mistake with consequences

Come to me with your ears wide open.Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. . . .

Seek the Lord while you can find Him.Call on Him now while He is near.
-Isaiah 55:3 & 6.

A mistake with consequences
Although Carmen,a young lady, appear to lack nothing, she was desperately unhappy. She was aware that she was a sinner and could not stand before God with her guilt,if she was suddenly to die.So she lived in the fear of death for quite some time.A friend adviced her to attend a concert of a famous musician,so as to put an end to her gloomy thoughts.Although she didn't think much of the idea, she was persuaded to go.
She hadn't noted the correct time when the performance started;so on arriving, instead of a crowd, she saw only a few people, whom she followed into a small hall. She sat down, but everything seemed strange:the sober appearance of the hall, the behaviour of those present.No-one asked to see a ticket. Then someone gave out a hymn.Carmen realized that she had made a mistake and decided to leave unnoticed once the hymn ended. She was just about to do so,when she dropped her umbrella in her haste.Everyone turned round and looked at her:so she sat down again quickly.
Then everyone stood up to pray.Carmen listened. She had never heard anything like it before. The evangelist asked God to bless the scripture about to be read. Now Carmen just could not move:the message of the gospel of the grace of God answered the very questions that had plagued her for so long;it filled her heart with fresh hope which she so badly needed.
More on this
Carmen needs God,but she was running away from Him.She was running away from the solution to her problems, but God in His mercy brought her to Himself by turning the mistake she made into something she so badly needed;the answer to the very questions that had plagued her for so long. This answer is Jesus, the one she had been running away from for so long.He knew she needs Him,and in her despair,He sought for her, found her and gave her peace, hope, joy, the forgiveness of her sins and eternal life.
Is that also your story?Have you been running away hoping to find a better solution else where? Please don't be deceived. There is no alternative to Jesus,He alone knows our needs, our troubles, our sorrows and our weaknesses that is why He said,"Come to me,all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and i will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28.
