Do you know Him?
The elderly man was nearing the end of his life.He lay dying in hospital.One day,when his ten-year-old grandson wanted to visit him,he had several other visitors.The boy suddenly took courage and asked them all to go outside for a moment.Although taken aback by the request,they acquiesced all the same.
The boy went right up to his grandfather and said in all earnestness,"Grandad,I have heard that you are going to die.Since I have been going to sunday school,I have come to know the Lord Jesus,and one day i shall go to Him.What about you? Do you know Him,too?" The grandfather remained silence for a while.Finally he said,"Send for your sunday school teacher."
The teacher came and was happy to explain the gospel to the old man who faced death.And before his decease the elderly man was able to assure his grandson,"We shall see each other again up there.This time I know for sure."
The gospel,God's good news of salvation for mankind is no different whether for children or adults.It says that there is only one way to God,one Saviour for all: Jesus Christ.Through His death He opened the way to heaven for all who confess to Him the guilt of their life.
"The Good News . . .is the power of God at work,saving everyone who believes" -Romans 1:16.
Turn from your sins and believe this Good News! -Mark 1:15.
The truth is; the message is simple.This old man had lived many years in sin,but it took him just few minutes to be saved by grace.Now he is sure of spending eternity with the Lord.But the question now is; What about you? Do you know Him,too?
